Passer domesticus

An uncommon visitor, usually a single individual, to the bird feeders. Yet a large flock of sparrows nest in the dense hedge 300 m up Hermitage Lane. Male with grey cap to head and white cheek lacking a black spot distinguish it from the tree sparrow.
