Bee moth

Notes

Moth with narrow elongate outline at rest and long palps that extend in front of the head. Males (above) with off-white anterior while females (below) are darker with a rosey tinge and two prominent black spots on each wing, the more anterior smaller than the posterior; Both have a prominent transverse zig-zag medial line and black dashed lines along the posterior border of the wings.

Sightings by month

Female found resting in greenhouse 12th June, and 2nd July 2022 . Another caught in light trap 18th June, 2022. Seen several times in light trap and attracted to lit windows in May and June 2023. attracted to porch light 28th May, 2024. In greenhouse 5th and 15-18th July, 2024 (male).
