Butterflies and moths: Gelechiidae
Small (wing-length 5.5-6.0 mm) moth that holds its labial palps above head; thickened towards base with bristles arranged with a central furrow. Wings dark and distinctly yellow-speckled with a cream-coloured v at base of wing and broad, diffuse pale band towards distal end. Two offset black spots near middle of wing. ID tentative without dissection and could be B. umbrosella?
Attracted to sheet (light by moth trap) at night, 9th July, 2025.
