Cinerous groundling

Notes

Small (wing-length 7.5 mm) slender moth that rests in an inclined position with wings tented. Large labial palps extend above head; thickened towards base with bristles. Wings dark mottled without obvious features except for a line of black dots at wing terminus. Legs and antennae banded. Identity checked and verified by Steve Palmer.

Sightings by month

Seen in wild flower meadow 11th and 18th June, 2024. In moth trap and in garden (on lavender) 24th and 25th July, 2025.
