Six-striped rustic

Xestia sexstrigata

Notes

Night-flying noctuid moth, brown in colour with indistinct oval and kidney marks and well-marked darker continuous cross-lines. The middle cross band is thicker and darker than others. Food plant: docks, dead nettle, chickweed, primrose.

Sightings by month

Found resting inside house on 30th July, 2022. Caught in light trap and visiting buddleia flowers 27th July, 2023: 3 individuals. Two worn individuals in light trap 9th August, 2023.
