Notes

Day-flying moth; one specimen, male, with bold black and white patterning on wing. Underwings also black and white (restricted to Scottish subspecies males). Seen resting on plantain leaves in wild flower meadow. Food plants bell heather, ribwort and greater plantain, common rock rose, salad burnet, groundsel.
