Lesser yellow underwing

Notes

Large night-flying moth with orange-yellow underwings. Smaller than the large yellow underwing and lacking the black triangles at the outer rear ends of the wings. With defined kidney and oval marks, unlike the least yellow underwing. Food plant common nettle, dock and foxglove. For caterpillar see here.

Captured in light trap 20th August, 2022 3 individuals. Captured in light trap 9th August, 2023 - 1 specimen; 26th August, 2023, 30 specimens; 5th September, 2023, 6 specimens.
