Fungi
Small ear-shaped fungus up to 6-8 mm in diameter attached directly to moss (Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus); very thin-walled. Upper surface greyish-white and slightly mottled; lacking hairs. Lower surface flat and smooth lacking gills or wrinkles; hymenium grey. Spore print white. Spores ellipsoidal with apiculus at more pointed end; 6.5-9.8 x 4.1-6.6 um, mean = 7.1 x 4.2 um, N = 21; Q = 1.7. Hyphae without clamp connections.
Growing in patches in the mossy path underneath the James Greeve Apple tree.
