Appearance

Very small fungus mostly less 1 cm diameter. Cap conical to bell-shaped; cream to off-white in colour with darker apex and paler margin; distinct radial banding evident around outer part. Gills adnexed and emarhginate; white in colour with pale gill edges. Stalk slender, hollow, pale and translucent; covered in fine 'hairs'. Spore print white; no amyloid reaction. Spores simple, smooth, thin-walled with apiculus; 6.7-8.1 x 3.9-4.6 um, mean = 7.2 x 4.2, N = 20; Qav = 1.7. Cheilocystidia common, lageniform to fusiform. No pleurocystidia. the fine white fuzz on the stype suggests presence of caulocystidia.

Habitat

In short-grass wildflower meadow. Moderately common.
