Fungi
Corticoid fungus encrusting dead branches. Upper surface pale and hairy with sponge-like mesh and some concentric banding. Lower surface violaceous to slightly purple banded and more or less smooth. Spores small, smooth, cylindrical ca. 6 x 2.5 um; fertile surface with occasional projecting cylindrical cystidia.
Extensively encrusting thicker branches of a dead broom (Cytisus scoparius).
