Plants and animals of Pointfield

Bright yellow, largely unbranched fairy club arising as a loose cluster from mossy grass; 2-3 cm in length becoming flattened distally with a distinct groove on one side; tip rounded. Basidia all four-spored. Spores smooth-walled with prominent apiculus and containing a large circular internal oil droplet; irregular in outline, often rounded trigonal; 5.2-7.3 x 4.7-5.8 um (mean = 6.3 x 5.1 um, N = 18).
