Cap 3-5 cm diameter, flattish with downrolled margin and distinct small boss at centre; brown in colour when moist, drying to fawn: fine radial ornament towards rim. Gills adnate, pinkish white to pale yellow in colour. Stalk fibrous, white; no ring.
Waxcap meadow. Moderately common.
