Cup fungus

Hymenoscyphus scutula agg.


Appearance

Tiny pale, stemmed inoperculate cup fungus up to 2 mm in diameter and standing ca. 2-3 mm above the substrate on a thin stalk. Cup surface cream, yellow or peach. Ascii with 1- or 2-celled spores arranged in two columns.

Habitat

Growing directly on small (3.5 mm diameter) dried stem of ?willowherb in vegitable garden debris.
