Appearance

Tiny white (less than 2 mm diameter), low-stemmed inoperculate cup fungus with a short stalk bearing a circular disc. Cup surface yellow or with a cream rim. Ascii small. Spores very long and thin (Qav = 5.7); 17.9-18.6 x 3.0-3.8 um; mean 18.1 x 3.2 um, N = 6; slighly bent and rounded at one end, pointed at the other; mostly single but occasional double-celled spores. Shorter stalked and yellower than H. scutula

Habitat

Growing directly on the woody interior of a half walnut shell.
