Fungi
Irregular bowl-shaped cup fungus up to 6 x 3 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height growing from soil. Cup split down one side with overlapping lobes. Dark violaceous hues, with inner surface usually a dullv pinkish and smooth; outer surface darker and very finely granular. Base with stubby stipe and white hyphae. Spores smooth and elipsoidal rounded at both ends and usually with two large circular inclusions; eight to a tube and averaging 15 x 6.2 um (Qav = 2.4). Asci without croisier. Paraphyses simple and partitioned.
