Large encrusting bracket fungus, 12 cm in height, formed of multiple fused brackets. Upper surface dark rusty purple-red with a silky sheen. Lower surface with multiple laminae of pores, white with brown patches from older surfaces showing through.
Growing close to the ground on a broken stump of the cherry plum tree.
