Appearance

Medium-sized, dark wrinkled fungus. Cap domal, 3 cm diameter; dark grey to purplish brown, smooth centrally but wrinkled and slightly felty in outer part. Gills free, dense, off-white in colour; gill edges translucent/glassy and finely frayed, gill sides white. Stalk long and sturdy to 5 cm; narrow at apex (3.5 mm diameter) widening towards the base (6 mm diameter); fibrillose and twisted. Spore print peach. Spores ovate and smooth; 7.6-8.0 x 6.0-7.1 um, mean = 7.8 x 6.6 um, N = 17; Qav. = 1.2. Gill edge sterile, composed of oviform cystidia, most with a cap of fine crystals; pleurocystidia absent.

Habitat

Growing around old Weigeila in conifer-needle-rich soil (2025).
