Fungi
Caps 3-5 cm in diameter; conical when fresh, opening and eventually splitting and becoming concave with age; surface moist and waxy, pink in colour. Gills more or less free or just adnate, pale pink in colour. Stalk white and waxy. Spore print white. Spores oval with no germ pore: 6.2-7.6 x 4.2-5.0 um, mean = 6.9 x 4.7 um, N = 12. No cystidia.
Waxcap meadow. Moderately common, occurring singly rather than in clusters. Unusually in 2023 several large caps came up in early August in the meadow.
