Fungi
Tiny orange-coloured mushroom in moss. Cap 9 mm diameter, irregularly oval in outline; thin fleshed. Orange at centre changing to orange-yellow around margin. Radial bands evident across outer part of cap. Gills pale cream-coloured, strongly decurrent. Rather few and wide, just primary and secondary cycles present. Stalk orange at top where gills attach, but mostly yellow like edge of cap. Lots of short hair-like projections from stem along most of its length seen under hand-lens.
Spore print white. Stem with projecting pileocystidia that are slender fusiform cylindrical cells. Gills with identical cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia, with small rounded tip (subcapitate). Spores small, ellipsoidal, 4.8-5.4 x 2.8-2.9 um (mean 5.1 x 2.8 um; n = 10); no germ pore; smooth and thin walled; inamyloid, usually with 1-2 guttules.
In very mossy patch (Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus) in path at bottom of garden.
