Appearance

Ear-shaped fungus ca. 3 cm in diameter attached directly to substrate. Cap relatively flat with downturned margin; upper surface brown and finely rugose; edges pale, inturned and distinctly hairy. Gills flesh-coloured; occasionally bifurcate; edge of gills smooth. Spore print orange-brown. Spores small, ovoid with slight apiculus; 4.8-5.3 x 3.0-3.3 um, N = 15 (mean = 5.0 x 3.2 um); Qav = 1.5. No cystidia.

Habitat

Growing attached to a rotten piece of softwood timber in the vegetable patch.
