Appearance

Small bracket fungus up to 3 cm in width, forming tiers on rotting wood. Upper surface with red/brown/cream-coloured concentric banding, with white thickened rim; finely hairy. Lower surface white to off-white, unbanded, covered with small pores. Spores small and bean-shaped; 3.6-4.2 x 1.4-1.7 um, mean = 3.9 x 1.5 um, N = 9.

Habitat

Forming tiers on sides of rotting branch of silver birch tree.
