Notes

Small (5 mm) fly with strongly patterned wings that are continuously waved slowly to signal to other flies. Thorax light grey; abdomen darker and very broad. Wing pattern is diagnostic. Seen near broom under Cotoneaster tree and attracted to moth trap light. On Achillea flowers August 1st 2025.
