Notes

6-8 mm dipteran with small head and short Y-shaped antennae with long first segment. Long piercing mouth parts. Thorax and abdomen pale with 2 longitudinal dark bands on thorax. Wings with dark leading edge and veins but no black cell markings. Femera and tibia pale orange/brown, tarsii black. Differs from E. tesselata which also occurs here in having pale, not black, femora and from E. livida in having two not three thoracic stripes].
