Elongate black rove beetle a little larger than 1 cm in length. Femurs and tibia black; snterior tarsii expanded as a red pad; antennae with reddish first segment and then black becoming orange towards tip. Head and pronotum shiny and smooth; elytra and scutellum duller, slightly bronze in colour and finely punctate. Abdomen also finely punctate. In wild flower border.
