Diptera: craneflies
Large cranefly with grey thorax and peach- to grey-coloured abdomen. Wings slightly smoky and shorter than body in female (main and lower left picture), and with darker leading edge and diagonal lineation. Legs reddish brown with black 'knees'. In garden August through to early September.
