Blue-black garden slug

Arion (Kobeltia) hortensis


Appearance

Small (1-2 cm) black slug; mantle less than one-third of body length; side of body has a low dark band almost reaching the base. Antennaer black. Characteristic row of white tubercles at base. No keel. Sole orange; mucus orange.

Habitat and sightings

Found under stones and logs around the garden and in wilf flower meadow in November.
