Ferns
Rootstock stout, basket-like, giving rise to many long leaves whose rachus is covered in brown scales along almost half of its length. Pinnae at base only slightly shorter than those half way up. Pinnae with strongly toothed leaflets (pinnules), these being highly divided with each lobe ending in a long bristle-like spine. Pinnules a glossy dark green. All pinnules stalked and the pinnule stem is grooved. Remains green all year.
