Plants and animals of Pointfield

Elongate pale spider. Carapace longer than wide; mid brown in colour; eight eyes in two rows, the posterior medians circular. Prominent black or red cheilicera. Abdomen pale grey and covered in fine hairs; cylindrical spinners protrude posteriorly; not separated at base. Legs pale with short dark hairs. Species determination not possible with certainty without microscope work. Probably several species represented in garden (long v. short carapace; red v. black cheilicera).

Found in greenhouse March and August, 2023. In moth light trap 20th April, 2024 (2).
