Appearance

Small deciduous tree. Leaves with 5-7 pinnate leaflets on a stem, which turn yellow in fall. Many bell-shaped greenish-white flowers are produced in spring on long nodding ‘chains’. The fruit ripens in September to curious inflated capsules that contains a brown nut. Forms large suckering colonies.
