Tree paeony
Paeonia ludlowii
A medium to large shrub forming a dense clump of tall unbranched stems with excellent, finely cut foliage. The yellow flowers, up to 10 cm across, appear in May. Originally from Tibet. Three trees - one in the walled border at ther front of the house, another close to the back gate and a third near the greenhouse on the western border.
