Appearance

Short, upright grass with flowering stalk bearing single compact cylindrical inflorescence. Spikelets 1-flowered; lemma with a long awn; glumes green with dark stripes. Ligule very short and flat-tipped. Leaves sparse and narrow. No stolon.

Habitat

Growing around base of fallen gean tree. Starts to flower in late April.
