Grasses
tall, upright grass without stolon bearing loose spray of long pendulous spikelets. Spikelets with long awns; glumes shorter than lowest lema. Leaves sparse and flat, with fine, downy hair. Ligule prominent and distally toothed; no auricle. Stem with very fine downy hairs.
Growing under cut-leaf beech.
