Appearance

Slender rather open panicles that are initially rather cylindrical but opening to a feathery pale flower-head; 2-3 flowers per spikelet. Flowers with unequal glumes and lemma with long pale awn. Leaves with soft fine hair: ligule short and blunt; no auricles.

Habitat

In grass by gravel drive.
