Wild flowers
Tall, upright annual with elongate straplike leaves that alternate and project approximately at right-angles to the stem; leaves without stem. Flowers arise from terminal spike; rose-pink in colour; cruciform with 4 petals that are not notched distally; stamen long and projecting.
Common in waste ground under the cut-leaf beech.
