Wild flowers
Short, upright annual with narrow lanceolate leaves that lie angled parallel to the stem; leaves arise from stalk without stem. Stem and leaves becoming reddish towards base and stem approximately tetragonal in cross-section. Flowers cruciform with 4 petals that are lobed distally; pink; style simple and club-shaped. Seed pods long with well-developed stalk.
Found around edge of the pond.
