Plants and animals of Pointfield

Medium-sized spider variably patterned but with characteristic pale carapace with central, dark tuning-fork mark. Legs spotted/banded with anterior legs longest. Late occurrence in year is strongly suggestive of mengei but distinction from the very similar M. segmentata requires microscope observation.

Wild flower border in September.
